Editorial policy

Everyday Systems aims to publish clear, useful material that readers can assess for themselves. We work to distinguish explanation from opinion, make limits visible, and correct meaningful errors when they are identified.

Accuracy and clarity

We check that a piece is internally consistent, understandable, and supported by the material available to its writer. Practical guidance should make its assumptions and limits clear. We avoid presenting a personal preference as a universal rule or making claims that the article cannot substantiate.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for reader usefulness and fit with the publication. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage or a favorable view. If a partner has a relevant interest in a piece or placement, we identify that relationship in clear language near the material.

Corrections

Readers can report a suspected error through the Contact page. We review correction requests and, when a meaningful error is confirmed, update the affected material and explain the change where appropriate. A correction does not automatically mean that a difference of interpretation will be removed.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, commissioned, or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that is the case, we label the image accordingly. Illustrations are not evidence for a factual claim.
